Since 1950

Hvide Sande Shipyard
– since 1950

With deep respect, we look back on the pioneers who laid the foundation for Hvide Sande in the 1930s, following the construction of the locks that were to dewater a large area of West Jutland. Everything was created from scratch and built up from the bare sand. It is precisely this mentality, characterized by pioneering spirit, drive and perseverance that founded Hvide Sande Shipyard in 1950, planting the seeds for what would later become Seasight Group.

Our heritage has shaped the values we uphold today – trustworthiness, customer and employee satisfaction, growth, and well-being. These principles remain at the core of our work, guiding us forward as we continue to build on the foundation set 75 years ago.

Since 1950

Innovation at our core

Innovation is more than a goal – it’s in our DNA. Since 1950, Hvide Sande Shipyard has adapted to market demands and customer needs, ensuring our continued relevance and growth. This same pioneering mindset has driven the expansion of Seasight Group, leading to the establishment of Seasight Davits, Hvide Sande Agency & Supply, and Seasight Solutions.

Today, Seasight Group comprises four strong companies, specializing in shipyard operations, port services, and advanced products for the defense and wind energy industries, including installation equipment and platform cranes for offshore wind.

A reputation built on trust

Among our customers we have a reputation for keeping our word, something that dates back to the first newly built fishing boats – when newbuild contracts were sealed with a handshake and a few pieces of paper, and payment often came after a skipper’s first successful voyage.

And while contracts may have grown in length, we still enjoy a very high level of customer satisfaction based on honest communication and accessibility, a high degree of flexibility, and great precision on delivery time.

Investing in people
– since 1950

At Hvide Sande Shipyard, we believe in continuous learning and development. That’s why we have upheld a commitment, dating back to 1950, to ensuring at least 10% of our workforce is engaged in education or training.

This initiative was first championed by Carl Erik Kristensen Sr. when he took the helm of Hvide Sande Skibs- og Baadebyggeri, recognizing that businesses have a shared responsibility in fostering the local community.

Today, two family and management generations later, we proudly continue this tradition, and it is a great pleasure every time we can celebrate another newly trained ship carpenter, ship fitter or shipwright.
