Since 1950

Hvide Sande Shipyard
– since 1950

We look back with deep respect on the pioneers who laid the foundation for Hvide Sande in the 1930s, after the construction of the locks which were intended to drain a large area of West Jutland. Everything was created from scratch, built up from bare sand. It is precisely this pioneering mentality characterised by drive, perseverance and a spirit of innovation that led to the establishment of Hvide Sande Shipyard in 1950 and the subsequent development of Seasight Group.

Our heritage has shaped the values we uphold today: trustworthiness, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, growth and well-being. These principles remain at the core of our work, guiding us as we continue to build on the foundation established 75 years ago.

Since 1950

Innovation at our core

Innovation is not just a goal for us – it’s in our DNA. Since 1950, Hvide Sande Shipyard has adapted to market demands and customer needs to ensure our continued relevance and growth. It is this same pioneering mindset that has driven the expansion of the Seasight Group, leading to the establishment of Seasight Davits, Hvide Sande Agency & Supply and Seasight Solutions.

Today, the group comprises four robust companies specialising in shipyard operations, port services and advanced products for the defence and wind energy industries, including installation equipment and platform cranes for offshore wind.

A reputation built on trust

We have a reputation among our customers for keeping our word, a reputation that dates back to the days of the first newly built fishing boats, when newbuild contracts were sealed with a handshake and a few pieces of paper, and payment often came after a skipper’s first successful voyage.

While contracts may have grown in length, we still enjoy a very high level of customer satisfaction, based on honest communication, accessibility and a high degree of flexibility and precision in delivery times.

Investing in people
– since 1950

At Hvide Sande Shipyard, we believe in continuous learning and development. That’s why, since 1950, we have been committed to ensuring that at least 10% of our workforce is engaged in education or training.

Carl Erik Kristensen Sr. first championed this initiative when he took the helm of Hvide Sande Skibs- og Baadebyggeri, recognising that businesses have a shared responsibility in fostering the local community.

Today, two generations of family and management later, we are proud to continue this tradition. It is always a pleasure to celebrate another newly trained ship carpenter, ship fitter or shipwright.
